Description
Couple taking a stroll down Seaport Village boardwalk in San Diego, California, USA. Seaport Village is located on San Diego Bay in downtown San Diego. Since it\'s opening in 1980, it has been a popular year round destination for locals and tourists. This gazebo area in the central area of the village is frequently filled with people watching various types of entertainment. There is a marina, restaurants, over 50 shops for clothing, gifts, souveneirs, as well as a carousel that has been a part of San Diego history for many years prior to being moved from area near the famous San Diego Zoo. The village is convenient walking distance from several hotels and restaurants and not far from the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park [home of the San Diego Padres], and the many restaurants in the popular Gas Lamp Quarter of San Diego. Seaport Village was built on landfill on historical area of Punta de los Muertos (Point of the Dead) where the 1782 Spanish expedition buried those who had died of scurvy. Later it was a railroad yard where goods were transferred from ships to trains for shipment east. Room for text. Horizontal.
