Unusual picture of a tower and lookout located on rocky summit of the fifth highest mountain in the Adirondack Mountains, Whiteface Mountain, located in northern New York state, USA. It is reached by a dead end loop highway called Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway. It is close enough to Lake Placid that some of the ski events of the Winter Olympics of 1980 took place below this location. The 360 degree view from the top is mind blowing and beautiful. You reach the top by in-mountain elevator. Image made in mid September. Cold at that altitude means warm weather gear needed. No information on internet but information can be obtained in Lake Placid on how to get there.
