Description
Image specific is a Mexican style patio with arbor, gate, and colorful plants and flowers. The arbor is made of rough, whitewashed stone and all located behind the adobe hacienda built and owned by Leo Carrillo who was an actor. One of his most famous parts was on early black and white TV as the sidekick, Pancho, on The Cisco Kid. This is only a very small part of the Ranchero.
Leo bought his first 840 acres for $77 an acre and gradually increased it to 2,538 acres. What is there now is 10 1/2 acres that have all the buildings. The ranch was built as a working ranchero and was designated as a National Landmark as of August, 2003. You can see the very well cared for original handcrafted adobe home the actor lived and entertained in, as well as 18 of the original outbuildings. The original hay barn is now in the process of being turned into a small theater for many uses. It was a busy working ranch and used by the actor to entertain many actor friends through a number of years. It's in a secluded landscaped 27-acre canyon in Carlsbad, California in San Diego county. A romantic place used for weddings. You'll find old windmills, a reflecting pool and many other beautiful historic structures to explore and experience California history. Great for nature lovers who will see large agave, bougainvillea, Birds of Paradise, many trees of brilliant peacocks who call the ranch home.
