Young man is perfecting his ski jumping technique on a dry ski jump while training at the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, New York, USA. He will land on a grassy area after he reaches the end of the man made run, flies through the air, landing just as if there was snow on the ground.
The complex which was built for the 1980 Olympic Games and has 90 and 120 meter ski jump towers that have been used for over 25 years. Training and competition can be done year round.
Although the 1980 Winter Olympic games took place here, the present towers were not used. In 1994, the landing hills were re-graded to bring the jumps into compliance with current rules, and increasing their height to 90 and 120 meters for the training that takes place there now.
