Large. old barn apparently used as a milking barn as there is a ramp leading up on the backside of the main barn to control flow of animals being taken in. In other areas you might think this was a slaughter barn and could be, but this area was settled by the Swiss who came to the United States and built a large dairy industry. The town of Ferndale, California has beautiful old Victorian homes and has been unchanged by modern civilization and remains a quiet little town in northern California, US, that is not far from the northern coastal Redwoods, It is worth seeing but not widely known about with no tourist industry or hotels... just a side trip while traveling the coast of Ca. There is an interesting museum of old farm equipment that is a trip through memory lane for those old enough to remember the items, or education for those who have never seen how farmers worked their farms in the "old days".
