Colorful Sea Anemonies {Anthothoe chilensis}, photographed at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This species is common to Chile. The colors may vary, but are usually a shade of yellow. Beautiful creatures that normally are hidden on the floor of the oceans or in tidepools. Tentacles are reaching upward to detect anything swimming by that they can grab and sting with nematocysts which are stinging cells at the end of the tentacles that paralyze small marine animals.
